East of the road between Stiby and Ö Vemmerlöv, just west of the railway crossing, a small road runs down through the village of Virrestad, which consists of a number of farms and some single-family houses. The surroundings are farmland. A little further north is the old Virrestad distillery, a place that is now a mecca for flea market lovers when, for example, Gyllebo IF holds a market.
The area around the beautiful Gyllebosjön lake is a very popular hiking area. The lake is a popular fishing lake and also a good bathing lake. The nearest community with services is Gärsnäs about two kilometres to the west. There is a school, care for the elderly, shops, galleries, café, bus and railway station. The Skåne Express, the express bus to Lund, as well as various local bus services and the Pågatågen trains run here. Simrishamn-Malmö.
