A tradition for the past four years is the Autumn Salon, where artists are invited to submit works to be judged by a jury. More than a hundred works are selected and exhibited with the opening on 26 September, then open for three more weekends (Friday-Sunday) from 13-17. Gösta Werner was a popular painter best known for his marine paintings. He is represented in all the country's major museums, the National Museum, Moderna Museet and seventeen embassies. He was active in Stockholm, but had a summer studio at Örnahusen since the mid-50s. At the Gösta Werner Museum in Simrishamn, different eras of his art are permanently displayed upstairs.
