Cider school - an introduction to craft cider as a drink with food with Elisabeth Knöppel, Rörumsro.
Limited number of participants - pre-booking required!
"There is a cider revolution in the world. Cider is gaining ground as an alternative to wine. We're talking about quality cider, also known as "craft cider", and not about factory-made alcopops with minimal fruit ingredients. A genuine and real cider made with a sense of sustainable production and local raw materials. Made in the same way as a quality wine".
"Swedish craft cider is largely produced at farms in south-eastern Skåne and is characterised by the landscape (call it "terroir" or soil). The local cider contributes to the same experience as the French cider is a concept for Normandy".
Elisabeth Knöppel is an "apple farmer at Rörumsro" and chairman of the board of SMCP, Swedish Must & Cider Producers. She will talk about what cider can be as a drink and present 5 ciders from different producers (4 Swedish + 1 French). (Tasting of all 5 varieties = 4 cl per cider, alcohol content 6-8 per cent by volume.)
